“Should I worry about 2012?”, “2012 fiction nonfiction”, “how do I stop worrying about 2012?”, and “2012: fear and loathing.” – Keyword phrases for 2012 that led to ANF
Every week, Google searches on the fear of 2012 find their way to American NonFiction. Our keyword success shows there are more than a few Earthlings who are fearful at the end of the Mayan calender.
People are afraid that the future December month will usher mass chaos and thrust the human population into a big budget Hollywood movie staring John Cusack. But truth be told, Mr. Cusack’s art house release War Inc. might land closer to predictions of our future.
Which is to highlight the climax of human comedy and tragedy. We, as a race of carbon biased life forms, often worry about the completely wrong thing. If our leg is broken, we worry about the broken leg and not about our distance to the hospital.
Shown in the current depression resistant sales of 2012 based media. We humans worry about the Armageddon, the earthquakes, the end. However we do not worry about the very real problems that humanity faces in 2 years time.
Why Worry?
To worry is a useless emotion unless you focus your emotion on something you can change. Armageddon, you can’t change, even if you believe it’s real. No Christian hopes to avoid Armageddon from happening, they hope to save themselves from the repercussions of Judgment Day. Hell, 7 Day Adventist are betting on the end of days. Que George A. Romero. The A stands for Armageddon*.
What can you do about 2012?
You might as well ask yourself what can you do about the price of tea in China, or the tax of tea in Britain? You can’t stop the forward progression of time.
Well, I don’t know with any certainty that you cannot stop the forward progression of time. I took a guess as those with the ability to control time are a rather small portion of the population. Maybe you are a being with the ability over time.
Maybe, you are a super hero. Good thing, because if box office sales are any indication, we are a county in need of a super hero.
For the rest of us, we can only move forward towards eventual fates. Our actions are our guide and we only have to change our lives. But why worry and what are we worried about? The end of oil, the end of progressive civil liberties, the end of a plentiful, drinkable water sources, the end of clean food, the installation of a brand label government?
Of course not. Most of us are worried about the Earth erupting and extracting “I Am’s” vengeance upon the population.
Count on Death and Taxes
You have no control over acts of God. Hell, insurance companies don’t even cover acts of God. Count on death. The healthiest human will one day die. It’s sad, bitter sweet, and a reality that happens everyday. Count on taxes, for the majority of human history there have been forms of governing who tax their population. It’s Conflict Theory, bitter sweet, and a reality that happens with every form.
If you count on death and taxes, and know they are eventuality fates, then there is no need to worry. I don’t worry about my death, I only hope it’s quick as I detest pain. The Tax man come, and I profit from the country, his cut is my patriotic duty. Change the things you can and accept the things you can’t!
Worry About Marx in 2012
If we are to take the words of the communist manifesto as holding an ounce of truth, we must also look at a small proportion of people who Karl Marx noted existed but counted as insignificant to his Conflict theory. The independents, who exist outside the struggle between the bourgeois and the proletarians.
While the independents may be insignificant to the ramification of the Conflict Theory, to be an independent is a far more secure position to be in than the Proletarians. Take the words of Micheal Ruppert to heart and be faster than the slowest camper in this bear attack country. But remember to be your Conrad’s keeper.
Learn to live your means. Learn to live and profit from renewable sources. Ride a bike, grow a garden, explore your creativity.
Worry About the Power of You Dollar
Shopping Cost Co is not a show of your political leaning. Every bit of currency you spend is a vote towards ignorance or enlightenment. If you buy grass fed, open range beef, more grass fed, open range beef is placed on the shelves and the percent of cows with E coli falls. If you buy crap, then crap will be placed on the shelves.
The corporate institution follows an eventual course of entropy. Where their price was once low, to stamp out competition, the extinction of competition rises the price and opens the door for independents. Stand your ground and reap the rewards. As the saying goes “Live ( and produce) local, think global.”
No Worry, All Action
The end point was made in the beginning, worrying is a useless emotion. Don’t worry, take action against your worry of the future.
Forward progression is enviable as death and taxes. There is nothing to worry about when you take action to ensure your own future. Become independent, learn the power of your dollar, live your means, and live as a free Americans.
Far too many of us scream as if the sky is falling, but when the sky falls there will be nothing to worry about. Though as a precaution I will be take a Las Vegas vacation in December. Then If the great Earthquake comes, at least I’ll be by the beach.
