At the Regency Fairfax, audiences got a frank discussion with Michael C. Ruppert at the premier of “Collapse”, a new documentary about the man, his times, and his predictions of the future.
Micheal Ruppert gave an exciting and informative chat after the credits rolled on his newest documentary. The half packed Fairfax audience stayed long enough to be kicked out of the theater and lingered on the Hollywood sidewalk to listen to man’s words.
Though none would expect less, when the object of our attention is a man like Ruppert, who’s life reads like a pulp fiction novel.
Once a highly decorated member of the L.A.P.D., Ruppert graduated valedictorian of his Police Academy class and held a solid career of closed cases. So how does a highly decorated cop get pushed to the outside?
The answer is simple and predictable, a woman.
Shortly after Ruppert’s transfer to the L.A.P.D’s Narcotics division, life seemed well. He had a good job and a wife-to-be. But his wife-to-be had a secret that came with a three letter acronym, C.I.A.
She was allegedly intelligence and tried to recruit Ruppert into the fold of a C.I.A drug smuggling ring. But Ruppert has one major fault. He is a true American, and like many of us true believers, he bought into the American Dream, where government agencies don’t deal drugs.
Ruppert brought his new found knowledge to his superiors and he was promptly fired. Cast out from his chosen life path, Ruppert set out on a new career as he “Crossed the Rubicon” into a life of collecting Conspiracy Facts.
The webs that men weave are the vast and complex. For the better part of the last decide “From The Wilderness” a newsletter and eventual website edited by Ruppert, has reported on the corporate webs and their effect on the world.
“Follow the Money” is the key tip from Deep Throat in the Watergate scandal, but every good cop learns you never follow money as it leads to scary places.
Through the articles printed in “From the Wilderness”, reporters found drug money protected the bottom line of the corporate interest. But the buttom line is hard to protect when it’s manifested in futures. “From The Wilderness” found that we, as a society, have bet on tomorrows that many of our leading minds say will never come.
“Collapse” is a documentary about the end of that road. At the crossroad where ever expanding growth meets reality at the fall of our society. Peek Oil, the point in time where the act to pump oil takes more energy than the process produces.
Everyone agrees oil is not a limitless source. Which means that Peek Oil is a future with no matter placed upon the when. The ramifications of Peek Oil to a society, who George Bush dubbed “Addicted to oil,” is vast and crippling.
Today, we have witness mere glimpses into our financial future and Ruppert is here to try and save those who are willing to build “Life Boats.”
Humans like to debate and ponder their moves, but in times of crisis, the need to debate can be debilitating. Why argue when action is needed? Ruppert’s answer is to quit debate and join the team of action.
“If you are in a camp and a bear attacks, you don’t have to be faster than the bear, you only have to be faster than the slowest camper.” Micheal Ruppert “Collapse”
In “Confronting Collapse”, Ruppert’s newest book, he offers a 25 point program for action for those who will listen. The book represents a collection and culmination of his advice from the mind of someone who has accurately predicted many of our current woes. “Collapse” is a documentary based on the book.
Shot from what appears to be an underground bunker, “Collapse” is a candid discussion on the topic of our future. The road ahead is dark but there are things we can do to protect ourselves. If you are willing to listen and forget all the hyperbole you have heard, you just might have a chance.
“Collapse” is currently available on your “Movies On Demand” channel and in select theaters nationwide. Be on the look out and keep a vigilant eye.
