Fight Club

Fight Club

Fight Club is legendary for a many traits that earn the coveted 5 gloves of Rock. In the terms of a Book to Movie conversion, it set the tone for future “true to the story” movies like “Sin City” and “High Fidelity”. As a subculture smash hit, it defines a generation of forgotten children better than “the Doom Generation” could ever hope to. As rebellion, only “American Beauty” comes close to capitulating the same level of ill contentment with the status que.

Meet Jack. Jack can’t sleep. Jack hates his job. Jack meets Marla. Jack loves Marla but hates himself and his clouded mental state sees the worst of himself in Marla. Jack meets Tyler. Tylor loves himself and hate the world. Tyler and Jack have never been in a fight. Tyler and Jack fight. Tyler and Jack find that brutality unleashes a part of their missing male ego. Tyler and Jack create an underground fighting club that morphs into a secret society for the mission of destroying the whole world. Into a sound track created by the Dust Brothers and highlighted by the Pixies. Watch Jack, Tyler, and Marla.

American Beauty

Meet Lester Burnham. Lester lives in a suburban life that he is not sure he ever wanted. The opening of American Beauty finds Lester in a job he hates, in a marriage with no sex, and saddled with a daughter who hates him. The only good part is Lester won’t have to suffer through his life much longer. Lester is going to die, but it’s not that bad.

American Beauty is the tale of the typically boring neighborhood where Lester lives. His wife, a real estate agent, works to prove her self worth with lagoon like pools and gloves that match her pruning sheers. Janie, his teenage daughter, hopes to get breast implants, lead a rebellious cheer leader life, and not attract any attention from her parents, whom she views as embarrassments. To ether side of Lester’s house with the red door, live a homosexual couple, he’s a market researcher and he’s a anastigiologist, and the Fitz family of three, Coronal, the homophobic, his wife, the depressed mute, and Ricky, who runs a lucrative business as a cannabis dealer. One of these characters will kill Lester by the end of the movie and you will have to see it to find out who.

Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas

“A drug person can learn to handle such things as seeing their dead grandmother crawling up their leg with a knife in her teeth…”

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Years before Johnny Depp played every role know to the Brothers Grimm, He took on the role of the best author known to the sub culture. Of course, I mean Hunter S. Thompson in his world famous book “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. There are many things that can be said about Thompson reporting style, but his life and times would come to define the modern day Classical Libertarian movement. Thompson stood as an open rebellion against the powers that be. To understand the world of 70’s, “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” is your window and is required viewing. The lounges are still filled with lizards. No truth is told in Washington over a desk, or durring business hours, and Hollywood remains home of Freak kingdom, sweet, sweet obscurity.

With a trunk full of chemicals to imbalance, Raul Duke and his Attorney Dr. Gonzo head for the neon city in the desert to find the death of the American dream. Along the way, they watch a desert race with the elusive Vincent black shadow, kidnap a young Christina Ricci, and attended a police Drug convention. All in the name of truth and utter strangeness. Watch for the weird but read between the lines and discover a deep insight into the Nixon era.
