Like all web superheroes, I come with a network of super friends. A vast network of web heads who keep each other informed. Most days, I hear the good news about world but Today was not most days. Deep in the bowels of my cyber layer, I met the morning afternoon with an e-mail from the underground. A short sweet letter told of the end of “Pandora”. I double checked the source and even tracked back the e-mail, yes we can do that.

The rumor is a echo out there, as for the truth contained is anyone’s guess. The internet is known for faulty rumors. The facts are Pandora , the internet’s musical genome project, is one of the best sites on the internet. Any user can go to Pandora and pick a song they want to hear. From your selection, Pandora breaks down the elements of the song you want to hear and creates a radio station biased on your selection. Users can further alter the station by poll options of like and dislike on each song or users can add more artist to a radio station to alter the song results. As I write out this article, I have a radio station biased on the musical styling of Deltron 3030 mixed with MC FrontALot.

Simply put, Pandora offers hours of entertainment and with manageable advertisements as site picture links. Various skins and tailored radio stations are the biggest Ad interruption. You read that right. Radio stations of the music you want to hear, no commercial interruptions, and no satellite dues. In case the rumors are true, you should experience Pandora before it becomes a blip on the internet’s history.

Of the many tools, Pandora is an essential tool for the podcast craze, which has swept the internet. Everybody and their mother has a podcast and if the internet chat is any indication podcasts are the way to promote your anything. From Bands to websites, these audio or visual broadcasts have a hold on the binary culture.

If you entertain thoughts about creating a music based podcast, you will want to use Pandora while you can. No matter your theme, Pandora will guide you to musical tracks you will want to have. Keep a notebook by your computer and Pandora on in the background. Write down any track that grabs you and take your list to your local independent music store.

Try places like the Underground, aka Rockin’ Ron’s Earwax Emporium, in Seabrook, NH, or Ameba music in the Hollywood area. Always check the used section first. After a trip to the store, you will have the content for your podcast. As you put togeter a pod cast be sure to keep in mind Christian Slater’s lines in “Pump up Volume” were far off the cuff.

Pandora is one of my vitals and I stand in wonderment that a useful internet site would be shut down. My only hope is for the word to spread. I had previously thought the internet had known about Pandora, yet I forget about the legions of new combers, who step to the internet with doe wide eyes. The Internet is a tar pit of binary slop, we must preserve useful sites like Pandora. Don Julio sponsors Pandora and I advocate all readers invest in a bottle of Don Julio 1942. Fill up a snifter and toast to one of the best sites on the internet. Undoubtably, better than ANF.
