Hunter S. Thompson

When our society moves past its current greed driven climate, Hunter S. Thompson will be marked as one of the most influential political writers of the 20th century. Hunter was known as a mad capped, chemically imbalanced genius.

His image has been massacred by Ralph Stedman, and carbon copied by Dunesberry. His writing propelled Rolling Stone” to the mega magazine it is today.

Hunter S. Thompson is Jesus

A stanch critic of the greed of man, Hunter is known for the venom of his anger. In the 70′s Roman climate, he wrote to become a monkey wretch in the cogs of a corrupt American system.

“When the Going Gets Weird, the Weird Turn Pro” – Hunter

Hunter began and ended his career as a sports writer, but sports would not propel him to fame. His first national success came in the form of a book called “Hell’s Angles”, an expose on the famed biker gang.

Later, he gained major national success with the non-fiction book “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, a drug induced stream of consciousness written from the self proclaimed “belly of the beast”.

Hunter America’s Son

Born and raised as an American son, he lived to protect and uphold the idea of our great country. He understood the greed of man, yet kept a strong sense of free will.

A liberal wrapped in a conservative, he was no supporter of the two party system and decried their abuse.

The web is full of information on the good Doctor, try a Google search. He was know for his vivid imagery, wild hallucinations, and naked truth.

He was a believer in the power of love and a warrior in the name of justice. A cartoon character given life by a chain smoking sports buff, the general public will never know the man behind the paper mask.

But the real Hunter S. Thompson will be carried by those close to him and remembered by the rest of us in documentaries like “Breakfast with Hunter” and “Buy The Ticket, Take the Ride: Hunter S. Thompson On Film”.

And the only question left is why? oh why! Hemmingway was a ass and Hunter chose to join ranks. I don’t know if I can ever forgive him, but I understand. R.I.P Good Doctor.

Wow, this was really great. For something you began writing at 11, and posted at 12. Is this what the citizenship of American NonFiction can come to expect?

Corrupt? I wouldn’t call it corrupt. It is exactly what we all expect which makes it normal. You can not exactly call a corrupt system corrupt. You call it normal and you protect yourself. Just put your helmet on, strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. Protect yourself and look out for numero uno. Keep the sunglasses dark and the cigarette lit and you’ll be fine.
